Thomas J. Janson, age 70 of Geneva, passed away December 17, 2021. He was born November 2, 1951 in Cleveland to Robert J. and Rosaria (Amata) Janson. He married Mary Jo McCarty on May 26, 1973.Tom was a great mechanic who earned his General Motors Certification at age 18. He worked as a machinist and mechanic for General Electric, Eaton Corporation and Swagelok where he retired. He will be fondly remembered as a hard-working, fun-loving, generous husband, father, brother and uncle.Tom is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Jo; children: James (Laura) Janson, Joseph Janson, Rachel (William) Carter, Kate (Joseph) Yankie, Steven (Tiffany) Janson, Louis (Vickie) Janson, Sarah (Robert) Tricamo, Michael (Jessica) Janson, Mary (Kenneth) Cifra; sisters: Kimberly (Michael) Jones and Susan (William) Wright, and 34 grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Kathy Madda.Friends will be received 4-7 pm Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway in Geneva. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Assumption Catholic Church in Geneva with Father Dan Finnerty officiating. Final resting place will be North Madison Cemetery.
