We have been unable to obtain any details of Carol's passing. Carol and I remained friends since school even during long silences or not seeing each other for some years. But the past few years we have been in contact regularly by email and phone or text and Zoom. Her mind was still sharp though she was developing some symptoms of Alzheimers that affected her speech a little and some Parkinson's affected her arm. But she was still good enough to do a weekly radio show from her assisted living facility in Berea, Ohio, the past few years. I lost touch with her a few months ago.when she stopped answering phone and email messages. I remember about 25 years ago she came to visit me at my office and after chatting about many things we talked about some of our teachers. We both had Ms. Prettyman for English in our senior year and enjoyed her class. I knew about where she lived, so I called up Ms. Prettyman, and Carol and I went to visit her the following week in Willoughby Hills and we had a nice visit for an hour. On an earlier occasion around 1990, I took Carol to visit Mrs. Puyeau, our French teacher, just a few years before she passed. Carol sat next to me in French IV. Bonne nuit mon amie.

I'm so sorry to hear of Carol's passing. She was a strong, passionate person, very witty and quick, always thinking of others.James Maxfield (Maxfield)
